Mini Invogue Nail Polish Haul

I bought a few polishes from Invogue when they first came out, but since them I have only seen them in one superdrug so I haven't bought any more.

You can see my other reviews here:
Hi Res Glitter - Blue

Felt it was time to while I had some money in my paypal and superdrug had free delivery over the weekend.

This time I got two metallics which I didn't get any of last time, and another suede effect, my absolute favourite.

First is green sheen, a teal metallic. It had very good coverage on one coat, but as you can see all the brush strokes I put a second on just to even it out. Dries quickly and I think its a great stand out shade.

The second metallic I got is passionate, a lovely lavender colour, almost like the Barry M foil but slightly darker. The same application applies to this as to the other one.

The 3rd polish is my favoutite, suede effect hot gossip

Had to take a few extra photos. The 'suede' effect, is a matte glitter. I am still after a matte top coat, but this will do until then. In the pictures its just once coat. Its a lovely dark pink I can definitely see me wearing this one a lot.

Invogue is the more affordable range from Eye Candy and available at Superdrug.

They range from £2.99 (metallics) to £3.49 (suede) they have quite a few other effects too, a really good priced brand, I hope they bring out more in the future.

Another place to purchase invogue is on http://www.ohbeauty.co.uk/invogue-nail-polish they charge £4.49 each BUT it is free delivery! So it works out cheaper

30 Day Squat Challenge

Got sent this link on Facebook:

Having a look it seems like fun, until you get to day 30 and 250! So I thought I would give it a go, and to keep myself more motivated, I will blog about it, not every day, just once a week, see if its making any difference! and if it isn't you wont hear from me until it does.

I have always had large child bearing hips and thighs, and the strength will help with me pole, so is anyone else up to the challenge? I just did my 50 so I have already started but would like to see if anyone else can benefit from it.

My starting hips:    38 inches
My starting thighs: 20 inches

I don't know if I will lose any or just tone up, either way it could be fun.

Mini Superdrug Haul inc Sleek, Accessorize and Maybelline

Today I had to do something that made me sad, so I took the money I was saving for my birthday and went shopping. While its still 3 for 2 in superdrug I was determined to buy a Revlon Lip Butter, but when I got there none of the shades really stood out for me, I think I need to look around swatches, so if you have any, post the links!

Instead I bought Maybelline colorsensational in Mauve Diamonds, I was running out of hope until I picked this one up, the packaging alone was enough to sway my decision, and then the colour is really nice too.

The other amazing thing about it, is that it smells of oranges. Its gorgeous. I like this colour, I have a few like it now, it doesn't stand out but theres a bit of glitter, this isn't an overly in depth blog so I won't be swatching.

Next is the Sleek MakeUp Pout Polish in Frosting. It's described as a tinted lip conditioner.

I was a bit worried how the colour would turn out, but its a nice tint to the lips, it does seem to highlight any dry bits, so next time need to make sure they're all gone. Has the usual vanilla scent, and it does leave my lips a bit soft.

Third thing I bough, I always struggle for a third item is the Accessorize Eyeshadow Palette in Lovely Day.

Been looking at these for a while I am drawn to leopard print like a magpie, but they are quite pricey at almost £9, it wasn't my favourite selection of colours but I love the case, I think it has a nice balance of neutral shades and brights. Way too many to swatch! but I did try a few and they are very pigmented, definitely worth it, if slightly expensive for me.

So that was my superdrug spending. I also bought a few extra bits from other shops I want to show off.
Two amazing dresses for like from H&M for £2.99

And my new bedding! Been after a bedding like this for ages, only £20 in primark for a king size, such a good price.

So just a quick one today, even though Lily isn't in school, the holidays throw routines out the window, got plenty to blog about just need to organise myself a bit better!

China Glaze Holographic Collection: Infra Red

I bought this polish aaages ago on a website for about £6 I was amazed at the price, and I really liked the colour, sadly as a holographic (and I only have limited experience) this was quite disappointing.

This weekend we had a 2 day summer so on the one day I had plans to go out thought I would get out a holographic polish to stand out. Its a nice colour but I just don't think theres much 'holo' to it. The other two china glazes I had were much better, even Gosh Holographic Heroes stood out more.

Infra-Red is a great pinky red, the colour is really nice, but it looks more glittery than holo. I find all these polishes very thin. My nails are terrible, full of ridges from acrylics, slowly growing out, I should really buy a ridge filler though. I would use 2 coats of Infra-red but no top coat, in can mess with the holo effect.

When it isn't in sunlight it has a metallic look to it, and really shows off how bad my nails are! It didn't last very long either, I didn't do too much during the day, but it was starting to wear away at the tips. only slightly but for the usual price of £9 I don't want it to start to fade.

I took this a few hours after, you can see the tip wear, its not so bad though, we only had 2 days of sun so it didn't matter in the end! I am disappointed in the lack of holo though.

I really hope a cheaper brand bring out a holo collection, I would definitely buy them all then!

MUA Nail Polish: Koala Bear

The penultimate nail polish in my MUA collection, so far, I haven't finished with my buying just yet.

Bit of a disappointing one for me though :(

As you can see Koala Bear is quite patchy, and this is at 3 coats, I just can never be bothered to do more, if it needs more than 3 its not worth it. Which is a shame because its a really nice colour, I love grey. I think if I layered it over something else so I wouldn't need so many coats it would look better. It dried quickly though just like all the others. We can't have everything 100% perfect, and MUA are so amazing anyway I don't even mind, I will find a way to make the grey work!

All MUA nail polishes are £1 and available at superdrug and online at the MUA store.

Do you have any tips of what I could layer it over?

MUA Nail Polish: Mud Pie

Still working my way through the MUA nail polishes I bought.

Up today is Mud Pie. Its a great colour, it reminds me of hot chocolate.

It has been the sunniest day for weeks today! Got out in the garden and sorted it out, looking as nice as it can be. I even did the garden after I painted my nails and they haven't chipped! Mud Pie is a nice and thick polish, I am always so pleased when I don't need more than 2 coats. I haven't even used a top coat and its nice and shiny. Like all MUA nail polishes they dry quickly as well. Its a nice chocolatey brown, I have been after a brown nail polish for ages, they are usually too light, this is perfect.

Really pleased with this, especially as the one I tried before it wasn't so good (see tomorrows post).

If you want to own this lovely shade you can for only £1. Available at superdrug and online at the MUA store.

MUA Eyeshadow Palette: Undress Me Too

Finally caved in and bought it!

In my mission to own every palette I thought I would buy this one. It seemed like it was very popular when it came out, due to it being very similar to another extremely more expensive brand, I can't personally comment because I would never spend that much on eyeshadow, when for an amazing £4 you could buy this one.

When Undress Me Too first came out, the shades didn't wow me into buying it. But now that I have been trying new things I really like them. Unlike all the other MUA palettes these ones have names. I love the gold ones, I haven't had a gold eyeshadow yet, can't wait to use them. Instead of the usual black colour, this palette is white, I like it, I don't think it looks cheap.

This is the top row with the barely visible 'naked' at the bottom. I like to take a photo with the flash on because it really highlights how shimmery they are. I haven't used a primer on my arm but when I wear them I use MUA eye primer and it really makes them stand out and last all day. My favourites on this row are 'devotion' 'shy' and 'fiery'

The second row has quite a few darker shades. Starting with 'tranquil' at the bottom. Just one shade that really stands out for me and that is 'wink' its a nice copper.

All palettes are available for £4 each from superdrug and online at the MUA Store, the 3 for 2 is still on!

I am scheduling another 2 MUA posts over Sunday and Monday, coming up are 2 nail polishes in Koala Bear and Mud Pie.

Blogging Edge: Whats In My Bedroom

Something different tonight, this is a little campaign ran by Blogging Edge. I can't do a before and after,  I don't know when my wardrobes are coming so I thought I would just do as it is.

My house is quite big, but I have so much stuff, it just looks cluttered, I am waiting for 2 new wardrobes to replace my awful messy canvass wooden structures that I have at the moment.

As its a rented property I can't really decorate :( If I could I would have  leopard print wall paper on one wall :)

Since I started living alone I have been needing to give my room a sort out, this is my motivation, I cleaned under the bed a while ago, its full but everything under there, can't be thrown away.

My Bed: I love my bed, its huge and so comfy. King size from Ikea and its all mine now, its years old and takes up lots of space but I never want another bed.

Bedside Cabinet: I don't have much make up, and it end up in the bathroom and the back room, but this is where I keep my favourite stuff. On the shelf underneath is a bag full of make up too, but this is what I use mostly. There's usually a little mirror on there but it migrated down stairs and I am in the process of putting it back..

Books: books and more books. I love to read. The 3rd picture are my favourite collection. Game of Thrones, Stephen King, True Blood, Harry Potter and a few others. I have moved a few times and this is my down fall. It really clutters up my room too but I don't care, I need my books.

Lilys Drawers: These are my daughters drawers. I keep them in my room because its just not worth putting them in her room, she's 2, they will be all over the floor! To the right is a little alcove full of bags of clothes up until about 5 years. Under my bed a gigantic bag of clothes that are too small. I can't wait for her to be old enough to have them in her room and get myself some space back.

Pole: My favourite part of my room, and why such a big room is so cluttered, need quite a bit of space. It's not every day you find someone with a pole in their bedroom, but I love it.

I refuse to take a picture of where my clothes are its just too messy, hopefully when my new wardrobes are here I can take some tips from http://www.emoov.co.uk/home-staging/ about tidying up my room. I don't need to make it look good enough to sell, and I like the lived in look but its definitely missing something, I also need to apply it to my backroom, which is just as cluttered!

Hope you enjoyed the tour around my room!

MUA Cosmetics Nail Polish: Strawberry Crush

This is the latest polish I have decided to review, have another 3 MUA polishes to get through yet!

I have also just been told about pic monkey so I hope my pictures look a bit nicer now :)
Still working on trying different things out, I really wanted round edged photos though.

So back to strawberry crush.

This is a bright pink, I would say a barbie pink, but also reminds me of the crusha milkshakes, you know the red liquid that you add milk too, haven't had those for years!

I found strawberry crush to be a little on the thin side, compared to the other MUA polishes I have tried so far, I managed two coats for the pictures but would be better with a third, I just get too lazy to apply that extra coat. It dried quickly and I am on day 3 without any chips. It is part of their new range which come in little bottles, like mini essie bottles, very cute.

The nail polishes retail at £1 each, and they are such good value, you couldn't ask for more.

You can buy them at superdrug or online at the MUA Store, both of which have 3 for 2 deal at the moment, thats 3 nail polishes for £2! I have stocked up.

MUA Lipstick: Shade 2 and Shade 13

A quick review of my latest MUA lipsticks.

Been looking at Shade 2 in the shops for a while, but sometimes just can't tell if its going to look ok without seeing it on someones face, I saw review on another blog and decided that it was a good colour for me.
I wanted to buy Shade 13, after a need for a bright red after watching too many Marilyn Monroe documentaries. Just got to make sure I don't go dying my hair blonde again..

Shade 2 on the left. Shade 13 on the right
Shade 2 looks quite dark but it doesn't look as much on. Its a nice mix of purple and pink, in my opinion and has a little shimmer to it. I wore it all day today, reapplied a few times after eating, but it lasted really well. For £1 each they are really good quality.
Shade 13 is a very bright red, I haven't worn this one yet I only bought it today, but when I swatched it on my arm, and had a bath, there is still a bit of red left! Very pigmented and feels so nice on, doesn't dry out the lips, and all MUA lipsticks smell of vanilla, its very nice.

Shade 2

Shade 13
All MUA lipsticks come with a little pot at the end, that removes, I am not sure what to do with it yet, my finger won't fit! I am thinking it is to use with a lip brush?

All MUA lipsticks retail at £1. Which is incredible value for what you get. They moisturise, they smell nice, they can last a few hours. You can purchase them at superdrug and MUA Store online.

Can you recommend which one I should get next?

MoneySupermarket Inspect a Gadget 7" Allwinner Android Tablet

This was a nice a little find!

I got it from my cousin, MoneySupermarket want you to review one of five budget items: e-reader, tablet, portable DVD player, pocket HD camcorder and MP3 player. I graciously chose the tablet. It was a hard decision between that and the DVD player.

I was thinking for something to keep my daughter occupied, and myself. The tablet only being 7" is a good size for a toddler, I plan to download some children apps for her on it.

Back to the tablet! It is available in several colours, me being me, chose pink.

It is already charged, which is really good, I hate buying new things then having to wait a few hours to charge it up. My old phone was an Android so I have no issues trying to figure out how to work it. It only has a 1 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM and 4G memory but for £50 you can't really complain. I purchased off amazon on Friday and it arrived today, nice and quick. The average battery life is 3 hours, not a lot but will last well for a child playing a few games.

It already came with a few games installed: Angry Birds and Fruit Ninja, I quite enjoy those games so that was a nice surprise. I tested out the 'Play Store' to download a free doodle app and I had no issues connecting to my wireless or downloading the app. It has flash and you should be able to watch BBC iPlayer, ITV player etc, great to catch up with your soaps if you go away. It even has a camera on the front, its not the most detailed camera but could be fun for taking a few photos of friends, if I had friends to take a photo with :P
So all in all I am extremely pleased with the tablet, especially for the price, you can't really ask for more, it may run a little slower than a smartphone but for me its just a bigger version. I would definitely recommend this to someone who was looking for something portable and wont break the bank.
