China Glaze Holographic Collection: Infra Red

I bought this polish aaages ago on a website for about £6 I was amazed at the price, and I really liked the colour, sadly as a holographic (and I only have limited experience) this was quite disappointing.

This weekend we had a 2 day summer so on the one day I had plans to go out thought I would get out a holographic polish to stand out. Its a nice colour but I just don't think theres much 'holo' to it. The other two china glazes I had were much better, even Gosh Holographic Heroes stood out more.

Infra-Red is a great pinky red, the colour is really nice, but it looks more glittery than holo. I find all these polishes very thin. My nails are terrible, full of ridges from acrylics, slowly growing out, I should really buy a ridge filler though. I would use 2 coats of Infra-red but no top coat, in can mess with the holo effect.

When it isn't in sunlight it has a metallic look to it, and really shows off how bad my nails are! It didn't last very long either, I didn't do too much during the day, but it was starting to wear away at the tips. only slightly but for the usual price of £9 I don't want it to start to fade.

I took this a few hours after, you can see the tip wear, its not so bad though, we only had 2 days of sun so it didn't matter in the end! I am disappointed in the lack of holo though.

I really hope a cheaper brand bring out a holo collection, I would definitely buy them all then!

China Glaze Holographic - Galactic Grey Swatch and Review

Just a quick post, usually china glaze is way out of my price range but I was given a link to get the holographic collection for £.5.95 each.
When I got them the weather was a bit miserable so couldn't try them out, once we had a bit of sun I got this one on right away.

I would say that Galactic Grey has more of a brown tone to it than grey but just wow. I love holos! When I put them on and I'm in the sun I just cant stop looking at my nails. I used 2 coats here, was quite thin at 1 but 2 sorted that out. The rainbow holo is very strong in this one, and I have tried my best to capture it. I didn't use a topcoat because it takes away from the effect and it did chip after 2 or 3 days, but I have an active 2 year old so my nails don't stay perfect long!

The photo on the left shows what it looks like when its not in sunlight, I found that even when it was in a bright light there was a slight rainbow shimmer to it, but it really comes out in the sunlight.

Have you tried any of the china glaze holos yet?

China Glaze Cirque Du Soleil - Its a trap-eze over Barry M Blueberry Gelly

So it's a bit of a late post. I was meant to do this on friday but I was too excited for my show, then I was going to do it yesterday but I was too busy missing the show!

Me and my cousin went to go and see Michael Jackson The Immortal World Tour by Cirque Du Soleil, and I have been saving Its a trap-eze just for this show, being part of the cirque collection.
It was beyond amazing by the way, huge Michael Jackson fans, and this was just a great way to listen to his music. Not usually a fan of remixes but I love what they did to the music.

I will do separate reviews for each polish at a later date, I was just going to wear Its a trap-eze but I had blueberry on and thought I would try them together and it looks really nice.

Its a trap-eze is a white base with lots of bright coloured glitter, the white isn't opaque so it gives a nice coating over another colour.

China Glaze Holographic - Sci Fly By

Normally I wouldn't be able to afford a nail polish like this, but I got a voucher for amazon and I just HAD to have a holographic nail polish.
In a future review I will show a more affordable one from GOSH, but for now we have this one. It took me a while to choose which colour to buy, I wanted it to be perfect, and it is, its a gorgeous pale blue. I took so many photos, on my new camera and my iPhone. I found the iPhone actually picked up the effect better.

First pictures what it looks like in the shade, just a normal metallic blue:

On its own I think its a really nice colour

Then in bright sunlight. I love it so much I just wanted to keep taking photos. These are off my iPhone

It applies thinly, I used 2 coats and one layer of base coat, it really shows up all the ridges in my nails from when I had the acrylics, so in future I will use 2 layers of base! I went out when I had put it on, and in the rare moments of sunlight I couldn't stop looking at my nails.
As my very first polish from china glaze I am very pleased! If I have the chance again I will definitely be getting more holo colours.

Do you own or plan to own any holos?
