Maybelline Superstay 14 Hour Lipstick: Mauve Toujours, On and On Pink, Ultimate Blush, Persistently Pink

Just a post for my little collection, I first bought Mauve Toujours because it is my favourite colour lipstick, anything with mauve and I just have to buy it because I think it suits me the most. Then because I liked it so much I have picked up others along the way.

L-R Persistently Pink, Ultimate Blush, On and On Pink, Mauve Toujours

I got really annoyed taking photos because I just couldn't pick up the actual shades. Next to each other you can really see the pink tones in on and on pink but it makes the orange tones in ultimate blush stand out. They all have the same formula, they smell like berries, its gorgeous, just like the other maybelline lipstick that had the scent of oranges, its so nice to not just have the vanilla flavour.

Now they go on easy enough, but on the lips, the don't feel dry but its not easy to run your lips together! I thought it was really strange at first but I am used to it now, just like the Revlon Suede lipsticks. I wouldn't say they last 14 hours, but I got a few hours of wear with eating before I had to touch up.

Another thing I found worked well, just experimenting, I put on and on pink on the top lip and ultimate blush on the bottom, rubbed them together before they dried and I thought it made a really nice colour.

They retail at £6.99 each and at superdrug it is 2 for £10 at the moment.

Have you tried these before?

Mini Superdrug Haul inc Sleek, Accessorize and Maybelline

Today I had to do something that made me sad, so I took the money I was saving for my birthday and went shopping. While its still 3 for 2 in superdrug I was determined to buy a Revlon Lip Butter, but when I got there none of the shades really stood out for me, I think I need to look around swatches, so if you have any, post the links!

Instead I bought Maybelline colorsensational in Mauve Diamonds, I was running out of hope until I picked this one up, the packaging alone was enough to sway my decision, and then the colour is really nice too.

The other amazing thing about it, is that it smells of oranges. Its gorgeous. I like this colour, I have a few like it now, it doesn't stand out but theres a bit of glitter, this isn't an overly in depth blog so I won't be swatching.

Next is the Sleek MakeUp Pout Polish in Frosting. It's described as a tinted lip conditioner.

I was a bit worried how the colour would turn out, but its a nice tint to the lips, it does seem to highlight any dry bits, so next time need to make sure they're all gone. Has the usual vanilla scent, and it does leave my lips a bit soft.

Third thing I bough, I always struggle for a third item is the Accessorize Eyeshadow Palette in Lovely Day.

Been looking at these for a while I am drawn to leopard print like a magpie, but they are quite pricey at almost £9, it wasn't my favourite selection of colours but I love the case, I think it has a nice balance of neutral shades and brights. Way too many to swatch! but I did try a few and they are very pigmented, definitely worth it, if slightly expensive for me.

So that was my superdrug spending. I also bought a few extra bits from other shops I want to show off.
Two amazing dresses for like from H&M for £2.99

And my new bedding! Been after a bedding like this for ages, only £20 in primark for a king size, such a good price.

So just a quick one today, even though Lily isn't in school, the holidays throw routines out the window, got plenty to blog about just need to organise myself a bit better!

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dot: Rain Forest Canopy Swatch and Review

After my trip to superdrug the other day and discovering the polka dot polish, my review of the pink and be can be seen here, I knew I would have to go back and keep checking until the green one was available, and just my luck it was! While the other colours had sold out.
There is a black and white but it looks the double of L'oreal Confetti, which I already have, and is a bit of a shame because these are nice and affordable.

I think Rain Forest Canopy is possibly my most favourite name for a nail polish so far, and I have seen many!

I love this. I love this colour so much! The same formula as the others, its a coloured base with large, medium and small glitter pieces in black and white. I think these work really well layered over another colour. Above I have used 2 coats of Rain Forest Canopy on the top 2 nails, then on the bottom 2 I have used 1 coat of Barry M Gelly Watermelon and 1 coat of Rain Forest Canopy. I love how well they work together. To get coverage of all the 'polka dots' I did have to dab and push.

I can't even express how much I love it. I hope they bring out more colours, I will definitely buy them!

Maybelline Color Show is available from Boots and Superdrug at the brilliant price of £2.99

Have you got any of the Polka Dots?

Maybelline Colour Show Polka Dot - Speckled Pink and Shooting Star

On my little trip to superdrug today trying to find a 3rd item, I almost missed these! Maybelline Colour Show are a nice affordable alternative, lots of colours available but these really stood out. As soon as I saw them I just had to buy them. I got the pink and blue, there is also a green but it wasn't in stock and a black and white which looks exactly like the L'oreal Confetti that already have.

First up is Shooting Star:

Shooting star is a blue base with a mix of black and white glitter pieces in all different sizes. The top 2 nails are 2 coats of Shooting Star on its own, would probably need a 3rd for complete coverage, the bottom 2 are 1 coat of a Barry M polish and 1 coat of Shooting Star. I love this effect and I am slightly annoyed when I paid for the L'oreal one which is quite expensive when these have now come out!

Next up is Speckled Pink - my favourite of the two.

Same formula as Shooting Star. The top 2 nails are 2 coats on their own, the bottom 2 are 1 coat Barry M and 1 coat Speckled Pink. I really love how it looks over the Barry M polish. It could do with another 1 or 2 coats on its own so definitely one for layering. I am so glad these caught my eye, and I will definitely be looking out for the green.

Colour Show retails for only £2.99! In boots and superdrug. They are a great affordable range from Maybelline and I look forward to seeing what they bring out next.

Have you tried the polka dot range yet?
