MUA Nail Polish: Stormy Skies Swatch and Review

Being tempted yet again by Superdrugs 3 for 2 offer, decided to pick up a few bits the other day. Stormy Skies is one of 2 nail polishes I picked up, because it seemed like an unusual colour, not one I have seen much of.

Stormy Skies is a very dark green, reminds me of sea weed, with a gold shimmer, which I think shows up most in the last picture. The first coat was very thin, but a second sorted it out, pictures show with 2 coats and no top coat. As with all MUA polishes they dry quite quickly. Part of the new range of colours they came in really cute little bottles.

I think this is a great alternative to black, it looks a lot more green in person than I have been able to capture.

MUA nail polishes are £1 each, amazing value! You can purchase them in superdrug or online at the MUA Store, both having 3 for 2 sales at the moment!

Have you tried the new colours yet?

Maybelline Color Show Polka Dot: Rain Forest Canopy Swatch and Review

After my trip to superdrug the other day and discovering the polka dot polish, my review of the pink and be can be seen here, I knew I would have to go back and keep checking until the green one was available, and just my luck it was! While the other colours had sold out.
There is a black and white but it looks the double of L'oreal Confetti, which I already have, and is a bit of a shame because these are nice and affordable.

I think Rain Forest Canopy is possibly my most favourite name for a nail polish so far, and I have seen many!

I love this. I love this colour so much! The same formula as the others, its a coloured base with large, medium and small glitter pieces in black and white. I think these work really well layered over another colour. Above I have used 2 coats of Rain Forest Canopy on the top 2 nails, then on the bottom 2 I have used 1 coat of Barry M Gelly Watermelon and 1 coat of Rain Forest Canopy. I love how well they work together. To get coverage of all the 'polka dots' I did have to dab and push.

I can't even express how much I love it. I hope they bring out more colours, I will definitely buy them!

Maybelline Color Show is available from Boots and Superdrug at the brilliant price of £2.99

Have you got any of the Polka Dots?

A England The Legends: Saint George Swatch and Review

A special one today! Saint George, part of The Legends collection from A England. Now usually these are £9 available from the website, but I was naughty and got this for £4.89 off eBay. I am all about getting a bargain after all!

Its at times like this I wish I could figure out how best to use my camera! This polish is so gorgeous, really tried to capture the holographic effect.

I think you can see it best in that second picture. It is very thick, but that isn't a problem for me, it goes on so easily and what I have on is one coat! I haven't used a top coat either so it has a lovely shine to it that lasts. That is all it takes. I had it on for 4 days and it hadn't chipped which is good for me. Its a dark emerald green with a lighter slightly gold shimmer.

This is the polish without direct light, and as you can see its still very pretty, unlike the other holos I have it doesn't turn into a metallic polish.

Coming up in the next 2 weeks, lots of Barry M. When I started this I bought too many new and slightly expensive polishes, so I am on a spending ban and going to work through my 60+ Barry M nail polishes.

Invogue Suede Effect Emerald Dust Review and Swatch

After a post by another nail blog, I was made aware of a new affordable nail polish from the brand Eye Candy. These are available from Superdrug.com and in stores. I ordered 4 to try out. This is my personal favourite, the colour the effect its just gorgeous. The suede effect is £3.49, a bargain! and also available in silver, purple and pink - think I will be getting all of them!

I have never used "suede effect" before, its basically a shimmery polish that dries matt instead of glossy. I like it. I took quite a few photos because I really like it.

The top 2 photos, you can see how green it is, in the 2 photos below you can see the comparison in light and shade, the gold shimmer really comes out in the sunlight. It applied really smoothly, the polish is quite thick and one coat is enough to cover the nail, I used 2 just out of habit and to smooth it out. I didn't use a top coat, as that would take away the matt effect, looking back I probably should have just to see what it looked like!

I am really in love with this colour, its a lovely green and the gold is a nice touch. I can't wait to get the other colours

Another place to purchase invogue is on http://www.ohbeauty.co.uk/invogue-nail-polish they charge £4.49 each BUT it is free delivery! So it works out cheaper

St Patricks Day New York Color High Line Green

So as its St Patricks Day, I thought I would link this new nail polish.
Never used NYC - New York Colour before, saw it in Superdrug in my town and it was £1.79 each or 2 for £2.99!! Had to get two obviously.

This is an amazing colour, perfect for today its almost grass green, or four leaf clover.. Only used 1 coat, it doesn't really need another, probably would use 2 if I was going out. I can't get over how much I love this colour. It dries glossy, as in the picture, no top coat needed, and it does dry quickly.
Next week I am definitely going back in to town to buy some more, probably another 4 colours. Or online if I feel particularly impatient.

They are available to buy in selected superdrug stores, http://www.superdrug.com or the official website http://newyorkcolor.com/en-GB

Any one else like their collection?
