MUA Lipstick: Shade 2 and Shade 13

A quick review of my latest MUA lipsticks.

Been looking at Shade 2 in the shops for a while, but sometimes just can't tell if its going to look ok without seeing it on someones face, I saw review on another blog and decided that it was a good colour for me.
I wanted to buy Shade 13, after a need for a bright red after watching too many Marilyn Monroe documentaries. Just got to make sure I don't go dying my hair blonde again..

Shade 2 on the left. Shade 13 on the right
Shade 2 looks quite dark but it doesn't look as much on. Its a nice mix of purple and pink, in my opinion and has a little shimmer to it. I wore it all day today, reapplied a few times after eating, but it lasted really well. For £1 each they are really good quality.
Shade 13 is a very bright red, I haven't worn this one yet I only bought it today, but when I swatched it on my arm, and had a bath, there is still a bit of red left! Very pigmented and feels so nice on, doesn't dry out the lips, and all MUA lipsticks smell of vanilla, its very nice.

All MUA lipsticks come with a little pot at the end, that removes, I am not sure what to do with it yet, my finger won't fit! I am thinking it is to use with a lip brush?

All MUA lipsticks retail at £1. Which is incredible value for what you get. They moisturise, they smell nice, they can last a few hours. You can purchase them at superdrug and MUA Store online.

Can you recommend which one I should get next?

MUA Lip Boom: Vibe and LMK (Let Me Know)

I had been avoiding lip booms, not sure why, I thought the lip gloss would be sticky and when you can buy lipstick for £1 why spend the extra 2 :P

I saw one on the MUA instagram, the purple one, and I have been after a purple lipstick that wasn't so dark it was practically black for a while. Why not get it, I love everything else MUA has to offer, and I wasn't let down! There will be quite a few photos in this post.

They both have one side glittery lipgloss and the other side lipstick with the little lipstick pot at the end. When I opened them I couldn't believe how gorgeous they smell, is it vanilla? They remind me of cakes, I have never smelt a lipstick so nice, even nicer than the Avon ones.

LMK (Let Me Know) Is a nice deep purple, but not too dark. I think I need to work on applying such a dark colour though, I was a bit messy. You can wear it 3 ways (I found 3 ways not sure what the 4th is!) Lipstick on its own, with the gloss over it or the gloss on its own.

All 3 swatched
Just the gloss
Lipstick and Lipstick+Gloss
The other one I bought is Vibe. After getting the purple and falling in love I wanted a less 'out there' colour so I could wear it more often. Vibe is a nude colour, just what I was after.

All 3 swatched
Just the gloss
Lipstick and Lipstick+Gloss
The formula is the same for both, the lipsticks turn out darker on my lips than they do on my arm, but I can't take photos of my lips. The glosses are slightly tinted, and then the brush gets a bit tinted with the lipstick anyway.

One of my favourite features from the MUA lipstick range, is the little pot that pops onto the bottom.

I am very impressed with these, I can't believe I waited so long to get them!

Lip Booms retail at £3. There are other colours as well. You can purchase them at Superdrug and online at MUA Store, both of which have a 3 for 2 offer on at the moment.

Have you tried any of the Lip Booms?

Avon - May Order

I got my first Avon order today. Not my first EVER, I have been jumping on my mums orders for more years than I can remember, but I finally decided to ask for my own catalogue. Limiting myself to £20 or less per month, so I don't go crazy! This post will be quite long with quite a few photos.

My first order came to £14.59 and I got 8 items! Isn't that just amazing! Avon is such good quality too. I ordered a few things separately and then got one of the Bargain Make Up Bags £8 and had 5 items.

First item I shall talk about is the body soufflé. I can't remember how much it is full price I don't have the brochure, but I got this from the sale brochure if you spent so much it was £1.75!!

It smells GORGEOUS. Years ago I had the shea butter range, and think they have stopped it now, this smells like it but with a hint of chocolate, it looks and feels like chocolate mousse. Not as thick as a body butter, and I can still smell it on my hands.

Color Trend Lipstick: Bubblegum Pout

I have been using Color Trend for about 10 years, it must be, so affordable too. This lipstick £1.85! Seriously. It feels really nice too, its only slightly darker than my natural colour, with a shimmer, definitely to be worn every day because it doesn't stand out too much.

Nailwear Pro+ Divine Lime

First page I turn to, and they have a new summer range of polishes. I don't have much experience with Avon nail polish but I am very impressed. This is the one that jumped out at a me, it looks darker on the nails than it does in the bottle. A bright lime green with a golden shimmer. So easy to apply, the brushes are really good, I know that strange but when you wear as much nail polish as me you can tell the difference between a good brush and a bad brush! The nailwear pro+ cost £2.99 a perfect nail polish price.

Those were the products I picked myself, the rest now came from the Bargain Bag. Bargain it is. I got 2 lipsticks, a mascara and 2 nail polishes.

Sorry for the small pictures they wouldn't go next to each other. The only name I have for  this is Rose Gold, its a dark red with a gold shimmer. I love the smell of Avon lipsticks and the texture, so soft.

Super curl-acious Mascara

I will admit, to my inexperienced mind, all mascaras are the same. I have needed a mascara it can claim to do many things its different shaped brush but, they make my eyelashes black is all I can really say. Not that its a bad thing, its a nice mascara and the bright pink packaging is beautiful.

Lipstick: Pink

I could not believe it when I saw this! I had this so many years ago, I have it in red too, its one of the most amazing lipsticks I have ever owned. It just adds a slight shimmer to your lips, hopefully picked it up well on the camera, I am so pleased with this.

Nailwear Pro: Splendid Blue

Splendid blue is a gorgeous navy blue with a very noticeable shimmer, I managed to get it on the camera, shown here is 2 coats, didn't take long to dry - but must wear a base coat. As I was swatching 3 nail polishes I didn't and it left a slight stain.

Speed dry+ Mambo Melon

I am not sure where melon comes in to it, this is a bright coral coloured polish with a subtle shimmer, which I have picked up on the second picture if you look close enough. Speed dry it is, I wish all nail polish was this quick to dry, I would say less than a minute. I used 2 coats to cover the nail.

As you can probably tell I am extremely happy with my first Avon order, and I just cannot wait to get the brochure and get my next items.

If you want to get Avon you can check out the website: http://www.avon.uk.com/PRSuite/home_page.page to find a representative in your area, shop online or even become an Avon Representative yourself.

MUA: Lipstick, Power Pout and Intense Kisses

So yes I am doing a non nail polish related post!

I am completely new to lip products, but since I started blogging and following other blogs I've been really tempted to try new things. My main issue with lipsticks is they usually make my lips feel dry, and with lipgloss they feel sticky.

Today I went to superdrug and got a massive bargain, didn't cost me a thing because I had points on my superdrug card, and I somehow ended up with Power Pout for 1p! As this is definitely new to me I would really appreciate any tips, my lips just seem to be naturally wonky, I think its the piercings!

Ok first is Power Pout:

This is 'Irreplaceable' The power pouts are a new product, available online for a while and I have been waiting for them to come into the store, £3 each they are. They don't leave my lips feeling dry at all, and it has a really nice minty scent to it, this is a really nice shade of pink.

Next the lipstick:

The MUA lipsticks only cost £1!! I could have been there forever deciding which shade to go for, this is called Shade 5, this is one of the first I picked up and it has a little shimmer to it, and I was after a light pink so decided to go for it. At that price I can go get some more. Again this one feels really nice and doesn't feel dry after time. The bottom unscrews to a little lip balm as well, totally worth the price!

Finally the Intense Kisses Lipgloss:

These lipglosses are £2 and I went for 'Sweet Nothings' a bright pink. I didn't really like applying this, it was a bit streaky, dabbed the excess off onto tissue and it looked fine, yet again it doesn't feel sticky, the quality of these products for the price is so good, I am totally in love with this brand at the moment.

Have you tried any of the MUA lip range? any favourites?
Any tips are welcome as well :)
