Pole Progress 1

This is a new ongoing blog post I am going to try, after going to a class today. Not sure how frequent they will be, depends what I learn!

In November I decided to buy a pole. I don't exercise I'm too lazy and its too boring, but I thought a pole looked like so much fun. I'm no good at having the commitment to stick at going to classes, or the money so I thought I could teach myself using youtube videos. I have learnt quite a bit so far, but I have phases of going on it, and while it was so cold I didn't feel like wearing hardly anything in my ice box house.

That was the first thing I learnt to do, I was quite proud! The bruises that my thighs had for weeks, never seen anything like it, but it was all worth it, my thighs don't really bruise any more.

Having a pole has helped my confidence so much. Before it I hated looking at myself, I was still a bit heavier from when I had a baby, and even though it doesn't look very sexy when attempting new tricks, I felt so much better. I have lost my baby weight now, but just hope I can tone up a bit.

I can't get good pictures I use my laptop to film then take a photo of that with my phone! I'm trying to lean back so I can grab the pole, just not quite bendy enough yet.

The class I went to today is called Polefire, its under grand central in town (Manchester). I went to the beginners class because I don't have that much confidence in my abilities, but it seems I should have gone to the intermediate class instead.
Since being able to get upside down I have been stuck on what to do when I get there, this class has nice comfy mats instead of my hard floor, so I tried to get my 'Gemini' which I did! Here it is:

Needs a bit more work to be refined, but the point is no arms! Just hanging on there with my leg :D not sure I could practice at home without the mats but I will try. Put me in such a good mood.

And here is the downside, not that I am bothered, I like my pole bruises, shows that I am doing something, no pain no gain!

I wont be going to a class again now for 2 weeks, so maybe if I manage anything new I will write then.

Have you ever tried a class? or wanted to? I really recommend it, I call it pole fitness, not dancing, because thats not why I do it. Its just a fun new way of working out.
